So in June ... or maybe July ... well, not important. There was a family reunion back home, so I state hopped and got to see my fantastic PA. (She is fantastic.) I mentioned to her that I hadn't had a period since January (! I'm only 27!) and she said that I probably have progesterone deficiency and possibly PCOS. So she wanted me to do a saliva test to measure my hormonal levels. Which I did!
Then I got back the results. I was low in Testosterone, Estradiol, and Progesterone, and they had me listed as "postmenopausal". Seriously, I'm talking, some of my levels were low for, like a 90 year old woman.
Well, since my PA had reminded me of it, we picked up a bunch of Progesterone lotion bottles, and I've been using it again. To mimic more regular cycling, I stopped for a couple of weeks, and then started again for a couple of weeks ....
And yesterday, like magic, tiny blood smears! Hooray!
And then today, cramping piles of thick, sludgey DOOM. Seriously, it's awful. I guess that happens when it's had, like, 7 months to build up, but ugh. It's awful. I think I still have some old prescription painkillers hiding around somewhere, I might have to break into those.
In other news, anyone remember that I was hit in the face with a flag pole in high school and my front two teeth died? (I did mention that, right?) Well, as it turns out, one of the root canals that was performed is failing! I have this awful bump on my upper gum, right by my lip, that if you mess with it hurts. Went to the dentist and she was like, "... you probably already suspect this, but your root canal is failing. I'm going to recommend you to a root canal specialist." So, goodie gumdrops, I get to go to an endodontist tomorrow morning. Hooray! Not.
And that's my health setup right now. Guess I should really go to an OBGYN, still, but I want to deal with the tooth thing first.
OH! And! All of this right before my birthday. Boo. Did I mention they tried to con me into coming in? On my birthday? And then gave me crap for it when I was like, "No! It's my birthday!" The meanie heads!
