In January I, along with about 15 classmates and a professor, will be going to the desert of Pima County Arizona in order to contemplate and write. I found out that I was accepted last night. Now my only issue is raising the money. I'm thinking about having a bake sale, on campus. lol ( Read more... )

woot! woot! I hope you have a great trip! sounds like tons of fun...and AZ is a place I would love to look into moving to. I'm all about the spaces of emptiness and HEAT!

I've been to Arizona several times, but not in winter ... southern AZ near the border is mostly dry and empty. Will you be near Tucson, or way out in the hinterlands?

We're gonna be in the middle of nowhere with venomous lizards and cacti...

Consider yourself lucky, friend. The people here suck.

Winter is the only time when life here is really possible. It's usually 70s/80s during the day but can get down to 40 @ night (occasionally drops to freezing).

PS I've still yet to see a venomous anything, here. Craig, who has lived in the area for 10+ years has never seen a rattler or scorpion.
