opposition to the notion of animal rights

As my thought has progressed and matured over the last few years, and the longer I have studied philosophy and law (specifically the nature of rights), I have become more and more convinced that all non-human animals have no rights. I'm still vegetarian...it's no longer because I think animals deserve protection or certain "rights" but because I can't stand the thought of putting a piece of a dead animal in my mouth and having it move through my body. I know it's not simple as that, but it still strikes me as "eww!" LOL :P

I don't believe in animal "rights," per se...but I do believe they should be treated humanely.
