Color Tutorial #01

This tutorial is a request tutorial by a community member over at icon_tutorial.
Warning - Heavy images.

Program Used: Photoshop CS
Transferable: No. Uses Selective Color.


Note - Results will vary from images to image. Play with the blend mode settings, etc. to fit the image(s) that you're using.

01. Grab any stock.


02. New layer -> Flood Fill with #0e2438 -> Set to Exclusion.


03. New Layer -> Flood Fill with #f4d1a7 -> Set to Overlay.


04. New layer -> Flood Fill with #9f3f2d -> Set to Difference.


05. New layer -> Flood Fill with #165248 -> Set to Softlight.


06. Duplicate original -> Bring it to the top -> Set to screen.


07. Add curve layer -> My setting: Input: 176; Output: 209 -> Leave on normal.


08. Add selective color layer -> Reds only with all set to +100 -> Leave on normal.


09. Add gradient layer -> Pastel Gradients -> Yellow, Green, Blue -> Set to softlight.


10. New layer -> Applied Image (under the image menu) -> Sharpen layer -> Fade Sharpen: Setting: 50%(Look under the edit menu) -> Leave on normal.
