Wow. I hope I have as much perspective when I reach 40, in a scant 18 months time.
I loved turning 30, it was the best birthday and year of my life. (Meeting Vilmos helped, as did having my chronic depression finally accurately diagnosed and treated.) I have to admit I harbour a certain amount of dread at the idea of 40...
Heh - lyn - role reversal here - thirty was the absolute worse for me and the few years afterward. I know this cause my sister and I have discussed at length. She delights in pointing this out for some reason.
Happy Birthday mama. I'm the shittiest friend EVER. I'm so sorry we didn't call. The time just slipped away. We never did anything too crazy and were home in our PJ's by 8:30pm on Sunday and Monday nights. We are so sorry we didn't get together. We ran around like crazy yesterday getting some appointments out of the way for the house. Blah blah blah. I'm sorry. I hope you forgive me. My MIL gets here tomorrow and will be here for a week. Can we go out after we are in the house? Maybe you and the girls can come see the new house next weekend? I feel like such a scatter brained wreck. Ugh. I feel so badly about not calling. *smacks head*

You have a nice fresh prespective about 40. I don't fear 40, per say, because my parents were 40 when I was born.
Oh, and welcome back to the mountian time zone(I'm up in Idaho..in case you didn't know)
