I do ask - but it's a bit of a touchy subject with him. He says he's stressed and tired, which is fair enough, but he says that me wanting to talk about it at all makes it 100x worse. I don't know what to do - I hate bottling things up in relationships.
It's something that happens to men from time to time. You know what you ought to do? Set up a lovely romantic weekend away, just you and he at a hotel or something where someone elses makes your bed and brings you food.
Laze about, and be romantic, and surely it'll happen. It's just the mood for such things.
Hard to be in the mood when you're working or going nonstop, cleaning a house, doign dishes, clearing up the house, and minding other responsibilities, y'know? Takes the romance right out of things.
I think it is a problem. I have been in a relationship for 4 years now. We still have quite a bit of sex. We go through periods where we do not have sex often, but it almost always sparks back up. If a guy doesn't want you physically, he most likely doesn't want you at all... unless he is suffering from depression.

It just wanes a bit when you really connect and start working on the other stuff I guess. If you want more just ask! ^_^
