settle into reality

This felt like deja vu.
That's what Cloud figured, anyways. He couldn't quite place his finger on it, let alone his mind, which was busy swimming from one idea to the next. Vague thoughts of labs and scientists seem to ghost through him, but their places in time were completely lost. Thinking too heavily on it made him want to vomit and Cloud finally settled into reality, glancing up as the doors on the lift opened, exposing him to his new environment.
On impulse, his legs pulled him out of the lift, and as soon as he was clear, he collapsed back on closed doors, taking a deep breath. Breathing - that's what he needed to do. With each breath, Cloud could feel himself collect and after a minute of silence, he opened his eyes, finally aware.
