Inside the apartment, Zack paced, unable to relax. It was evening, he was in his apartment and while there was no threat present, he just couldn't seem to shut his brain off. There were still so many questions that were unanswered, and from what Zack could tell, the others seemed to know about as much as him.
Then again, he'd only talked with Matt, and the talking had degraded into drinking far quicker than he'd intended. Flopping back into a chair, Zack sighed. It was a start at least. Now that he had finally stopped pacing (and doing squats) the sound of movement in the hallway caught his attention. Was Matt back? Or was there someone else out there? Curious, he paused to listen once more.
Cloud reached out in disbelief, pressing a finger to the plaque hesitantly. It was real, that was for sure. Still... that meant little. It wouldn't the first time he had slipped out of reality into a separate consciousness. ... Well, that's all he could think of calling it - the random times where things weren't real and memories he thought he had buried resurfaced for the better or worst (luckily mostly for the better).
Stepping back, Cloud looked over the apartment next to his own. It was all plenty real enough, so... did that mean that... Zack...?
The possibility of his old friend being here brought several possibilities to mind, all of them leaving a pit in Cloud's stomach, and, needed to settle himself, he put his hand on the doorknob, giving a try to see if it were, by any chance, unlocked.
The touch of the doorknob brought Zack back to this feet, frowning slightly in caution. So there was someone out there, but as for who, he really had no idea. He started to the door, eager to find out who was lurking around outside. Apparently he had a room mate out there somewhere, another newcomer like himself. Perhaps this was them?
With a click, he pulled the door open. Zack stared, not believing what, or rather who, he saw.
He snapped his hand back towards him at the door opening, his heart leaping in that juvenile sort of way, as if he were to be scolded for trying to be sneaky. Stepping back, it took Cloud a moment to process Zack's face. Nothing new there, though. It was always like this, except...
Well, maybe it was too soon to say Zack wouldn't be disappearing.
Cloud stood in silence, staring at his friend until he found his voice. "... Zack."
