The biggest problem with sleeping as a human was that, with longer hours at a time during rest, there was more opportunity for memories to slip into half-muddled hallucinations, or whatever humans had that passed for dreams. Before this prison, she'd forgotten what it was like to really have any.

Nightmare might be the better word for it. Whole set of them, one after the other. Ha-Neul thought it was almost predictable, if disturbing and some parts cruel, that they would be in chronological order. From Hel's bargain to that bitch Sorrow, Thanatos Maero and her relentless- plummeting from the Tower, a shapeshifter cloaked in thick fog with calibrated charm in his smile and the vilest of tongues- for when they were alone- and Razakiel's girl. Little scion. Sweeter face aura than she'd come across since Inwe and she'd been responsible for ( ... )

Sebastian actually started slightly when she entered, a reflexive twitch of his hands in memory of longer claws that he no longer had access to. He ran a hand through his hair; real composure was going to be an exercise in futility, but he at least was capable of not being too visibly jumpy, he hoped.

He didn't bother making any move to cook the eggs once he had them in the bowl, just poured a mug of the heavy cream and moved to the table with it, sipping on the bowl as if it were some form of broth and keeping a wary eye on Ha-Neul.

Even like this, she remained sensitive to shifting around her- and while her reflexes were dulled and Ha-Neul didn't twitch right back, she still was aware of a change.

Luckily for Sebastian the frayed edges of her attention span at this hour, after what she'd just spent hours reminiscing, made focusing on any one thing difficult. She prodded again at the cupboard and slid away. The backs of her knees hit a chair, and Ha-Neul fell into it gracelessly.

Probably she didn't cover for the embarrassment- well, for a variety of reasons, only most of them coherent. Her claws were pleasantly cool when pressed flat and safely against her cheek. If wounds didn't close unnaturally, Ha-Neul wondered, could she bruise? It seemed likelier now than she would have ever thought.

She didn't seem to be in any kind of a mood for another squabble over food, but he sank into his chair with both hands around the half-empty bowl of raw eggs as if trying to mantle over them anyway. He was behaving far more flatly than usual, without any of the energy yet to maintain preening ego or any form of smug.

He finished off the bowl quickly, stared at the mug flatly, glanced between it and Ha-neul a few times, and opted to skip propriety and human-mannerisms for comfort, pouring the cream into the bowl where it'd be easier to curl around that and lap at it.
