Awwww, poor Rory. She's so in over her head here. I love your writing and your characterizations--so spot on! I love Lorelai's undying support for Rory. It's just so Lorelai.
And I wholly approve of your current music. I need to dig that CD out...
Oh cool, you like Point of Grace? Unfortunately you don't find a lot of people that do. In my experience at least. Not in concentrated areas, anyway. :P Do you have the new Christmas CD? The one from two or three years ago they made after one of the members changed? I have that one too and it's good, but the old one is still my favorite. My favorite songs on the album are "One King" and "Not That Far From Bethlehem" because they're just beautiful.
Yeah, it isn't exactly a mainstream group, but they were one of the first groups I liked when I got into Christian music. I do have the newer Christmas CD but it doesn't come close to their original one. There's something really perfect about that CD. I used to put it in my car after Thanksgiving and never take it out until Christmas when I was still commuting. And yep--those two songs are my faves, too :)
Though my favorite Christmas recording of all time is a song from some compilation CD I bought called Happy Christmas (I think). It was a rendition of "O Holy Night" by the group Seven Day Jesus (which I do believe is long defunct, but I'm not up on my music anymore). I could listen to that song for HOURS. Literally. It drives my husband nuts.
Awww... I love that Rory has made some progress with Dean (and the Dean/Rory in me squee'd a little when they exchanged new phone numbers :D), and through her interaction with Jess and her avoidance of Lorelai we can see how overwhelming this all is for her. I love how Lorelai is giving her unconditional support to Rory. Your portrayal of her is so spot on with this, and with the way she's upset about Rory avoiding her.
Can't wait to see what you have in store next! As always, I enjoyed this chapter! :)
