I myself wonder, however, if the effect might be less uniform offline. For online one can only really talk about one thing at once, so naturally one talks about the most important thing: ie. being in love. But offline, where actions need not be described between astericks and can even be done while doing things like playing video games and hanging out, I think it would be easier to do both.
Granted, that doesn't mean people do. But they could.
