While talking with Bob tonight he mentioned that he saw Bobcat tracks in the snow when he was skiing. I asked him if it was pretty clear that they were Bobcat tracks and he started to explain the difference between the tracks he sees in our 'yard.' sorry for being a downer, but i dislike fishercats..

so in one of my classes at uvm someone did a presentation on fisher cats and went on to say that them killing housecats is just a myth and they don't do that. yadda yadda. I angrily thought to myself this was so not true, as for the past few years (some years more than others) fisher cats have practically cleaned out all the house cats (and small dogs) in my area. Like from my woods to all up on hillview, and williams hill. People saw, the vet, Virginia had her cat run off with...people have seen them run off with thier cats. Now, I don't actually have any proof other than a nagging gut feeling but I can only assume that fisher cats got blackie (that was the first time there was a big problem with them), and then got dewey

I totally understand your feelings there. I don't actually have any love or hate for the things. I just thought it was a funny conversation. No need to love fishercats just because they have retractable claws! i'm sure they can still be mean. Sorry to hear about all the lost cats in your area and especially of your own dear friends.
I myself am not quite sure what the prints look like. Bob would know. There are probably also pictures online.
