Chabas and the men...

So Friday night I was out with my dad to a work party. After some time, a guy starts hitting on me, then backing away a bit, hitting on me some more... He went home with my cell number (which he quintuple-checked), and told me to message him soon if I didn't hear from him. Only reason nothing happened was because I wouldn't let him - I'm just not that ready for the whole dating/relationship thing.

I got a text message from him within half an hour after leaving the party, and a few more over the weekend, involving "xxx" and "We should meet up soon" and such. He seemed REALLY into me.

Monday morning, I get to work, and hear he's living with his girlfriend. Shrug it off somewhat since I wasn't that into him, but do figure he misbehaved badly. So when I run into him at the cafeteria, I decide to walk over, and ask how his girlfriend is doing. He's mildly confused about why I'm interested, so I point out he'd not seemed to be taken last Friday. He turns bright red, and starts talking about how he'd just had a lot to drink, and he hadn't meant anything by it, and he'd just been messing about. Basically, telling me it's no problem at all, while his body language screams "I so got caught and how do I get out of this?!" It must've been amusing to see. The guy is a foot taller than me, and looks like he works out. I was perfectly calm and friendly, and I had him glowing in the dark and almost talking gibberish.

A while later, I get a text message from him, which I shared with my department. He hoped he'd not hurt me because that's the last thing he wants to do (present tense!), and he'd just had too much to drink and had been messing about, and it had been a nice evening, right? I sent a message back, telling him that if I were him, I'd worry less about me, and more about the girlfriend. I've not heard from him since. I suspect he'll be avoiding me in future.

Some of my colleagues suggested he might have enough of a thing for me to want to leave his girlfriend for me. I pointed out to them that I'm not particularly interested in relationships with cheaters.

The other thing... Right across the hall from me lives a guy, Milton. Nice guy to chat with, and a fellow CSI-fan. Last week, we'd been running back and forth during commercial breaks to discuss the episode, and I ended up in his room talking with him till like 0.30am. Nothing shocking - we just sat around and talked.

Rumor in the house now has it that I was in his room till 5am and we kissed. I'm fairly stumped as to where that one came from.
