Mourn Livejournal

When I started LJ I had a few people from far off places that would read my journal, and I their's. We would comment occasionally, give each other feedback on stuff and it was generally an enjoyable thing for me to write about stuff in my life, my realizations, goals and minor drama. It was anonymous in a way, because I didn't have to interact ( Read more... )

I agree with Vern on this one.

Unfortunately, that's the pro/con of LJ. It's your journal, to keep all your private thoughts and desires.....that's open to the rest of the world.

But definitely set up some groupings, like anything that frustrates you about certain DC people will only get broadcasted to people who live outside of the DC/VA/MD area, and anyone in the area you trust not to go running their mouth.

Don't be afraid of your comfort zone.

Or just do what I do, for the really private entries just click the "private" button. Don't stop writing, it still helps to get things out even if no one reads it.

I've been doing that for a while, but it just didn't have the same feeling as getting interaction from others on my posts. I need to keep writing and have started doing the short story thing, maybe I will post some of those up sometime.

How about starting another journal for the sensitive entries? If you advertise it here on this journal to a select few using a filter, maybe through those people you'll still have the occasional wanderers making valuable comments on the new journal.

I had noticed that you weren't posting the "big posts" anymore lately - it certainly is a balancing act isn't? Sometimes I just tell myself "screw it" and post the heavy stuff anyhow.

I completely understand your woes. I guess when I move up to DC and make new friends I won't be able to make many posts like my latest one. I could make them now cause I know the people I am writing about don't have LJ(that I know of). But even if they do oh well.
They can fuck off ;-)
