Hilariously enough, that self-incriminating rag of a mission statement the PNAC wrote up a decade ago (http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm) is now working to their advantage. In between all the meat about protecting American economic interests and making sure we stay at the top of the heap, there's a sprig of parsley about "promoting the cause of economic and political freedom abroad". This is getting spun, by everybody under the sun, to mean that Wolfowitz and Cheney had the idea ages ago that "everybody in the world wants to be free!" and that they acted on that and dadgum, they was right.
