Bonsai repotting

I must say, that's remarkable - especially the roots! Any endeavor that you can continue on with into old age is quite an interesting one to say the least. I wish your ficus many more years of tender, loving care.

I never considered trying bonsai. I had a small garden for a handful of years when I was a kid and it always seemed difficult enough to keep things alive for a single growing season! And I was never quite able to grow that prize pumpkin I was shooting for... :)

Thank you, Soba! The roots were decided entirely by the tree itself. Another thing I love about bonsai; they each have their own lives and will respond to their own will and growing conditions. If their roots are too long, you'll know based on the leaf color. If they need fertilizer, they'll let you know. If the pot is too small, you'll know soon enough. It's amazing, and I hope to have the space and time for the rest of my life to dedicate to this little work of art ( ... )

Wranglin' them trees ain't as easy at it seems, pardner!

Actually, there are some great specimens around the mountain up here. Pines, aspen, juniper, fir, plus wild cherries and other trees/shrubs abound.

Good to hear from you, too! I go through fits and starts with internet stuff, but trying to spend at least a little time each day checkin' things out. Hope you're well *feathery hug*
