Is it lying to act differently than you feel/believe?

yeah i think so. but i also don't think we should always express what we feel or believe. it sort of depends upon the situation.

an example: some kids pretend to fit in. of course that behavior should stop.

but sometimes what we feel or believe is unreasonable or may cause harm and maybe is better to not be expressed. or maybe be expressed only to those not involved in the situation. i don't you should ever act a certain way cuz that's what others want. but i don't like hurting people either. emotionally or physically. if i needed to hurt someone i would try to do it in a way that would hurt the least. i prefer talking. talking solves a lot of problems whether we wnat to admit it or not. and i know it can be uncomfortable, but it works.

i guess you need to use your judgement.

of course what you're asking is more of a personal belief, so you should draw your own conclusions.
