Draco sat passively across the floor from Potter, legs crossed and mind the same.  What’s he thinking, Draco mused, as he scanned Potter’s face for signs of a ruse.  There had to be something more to this.  This was juvenile and puerile and totally without merit.  There was a loud cheer as Pansy leaned across and kissed Colin Creevey on the lips.  Draco had to move to his left, as Creevey was trying to avoid the kiss without much luck.  So far, he had been spared any indignity.

“Whose idea was this?” he whispered in Nott’s ear.

“Mine,” said Theodore said, matter of factly, “it’s my birthday and I thought a few games would get things moving.”

“A few more firewhiskey’s would get things moving.” Draco grumbled.

“Here, have mine,” offered Creevey.

Draco didn’t have to be asked twice, there was still half a glass of golden liquid to be downed.  He lifted the crystal to his lips and let the liquid course through his mouth and down his throat.  A warmth spread through his chest and finally he felt a little light headed.  He looked warily to his left, it was his turn next.  Theodore sat back after giving Granger a peck on the lips.  This obviously had infuriated Weasley no end, the red-head git looked ready to burst a blood vessel.

“Go on, it’s you turn.” Theodore said, his elbow nudged poking into Draco’s side.

“I know, I know, there’s no need to elbow me.”

“Spin it, Draco,” said Blaise.

“Yeah, Malfoy, everyone else has had a turn.  Now spin the wand,” demanded Weasley.

“Spin the wand.”

“Spin the wand.”

“Spin the wand”

Draco was of half a mind to get up and leave.  Who were this bunch of miscreants to tell him what he, Draco Malfoy, had to do.  However if he knew them, the second he left they would be gossiping about him behind his back.  It wouldn’t do to have them thinking he was afraid, especially of a stupid Muggle game.

“Alright, alright, calm down,” he said, reaching forward and giving the wand a quick flick, “your acting like a bunch of…”

The wand had stopped spinning.  It’s direction was straight and true.  It’s was certainly no line call, like they’d had earlier.  No, there was no mistaking where it was pointing.  Draco reached forward to give it another spin.

“Oi, what do you think you’re doing?” asked Theodore.

“Look,” stammered Draco, his finger shakily mirroring the wand, “look at where it’s pointing.”

In stark contrast to Draco’s ashen face, Potter had gone a rather peculiar shade of red.  Draco thought he must be seeing things when the boy with the emerald eyes leant forward and pursed his lips.

“This is a joke, isn’t it?” Draco asked.

“No, it isn’t.” Creevey sniggered beside him.

Draco shot him the coldest and blackest glare he could muster.

“You can sit back, Potter,” he said, “Boys don’t kiss boys.”

“They do in this game.  Now, play fair Draco.” Theodore said.

Draco looked around the circle of gathered friends, acquaintances and former enemies.  There really wasn’t much chance of any of them taking his side.

“If I don’t?” Draco asked, crossing his arms.

“Malfoy, you can drop the charade.  Harry’s told us everything,” interjected Granger.

Now it was Draco’s turn to blush.

“You… you told them?” Draco asked.

Potter got up on his knees and in his usual ungainly manner crawled toward him.

“It just sort of came out,” revealed Potter, coming to a halt mere inches from him.

“Just sort of came out?” Draco raised an eyebrow.

Potter smiled, that same smile that made Draco weak in the knees.  So it was lucky he was sitting when he felt Potter’s lips press against his.  The loudest cheer of the night went up from the slightly inebriated partygoers.

“So, is this a birthday party or a coming out party?” he smirked, then kissed Harry once more.
