In case anyone didn't know, the 1st class postage rate went up to $.39, effective yesterday.

Not that the US Postal Service could be bothered to let anyone know. Assholes.

My mother knew and told me of this a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how she knew, but she writes a ton of letters, so one would assume that the post office must have let her know.

To everybody else it was a secret.

Yeah. Someone at the post office told my boss Saturday, or something. If we'd known ahead of time, we would have mailed out the letters sooner, instead of waiting until we had to buy 300 2¢ stamps.
