It is almost a week after their high school reunion. And as promised Jaejoong and his friends are meeting in a cafe near their former school. Junsu volunteered to fetch him from work so he wouldn't need to bring his car. Junsu's been babbling nonstop since they depart from his work. Jaejoong is just humming in response so Junsu wouldn't be upset that he is not really listening.
Jaejoong's mind is somewhere else, specifically on their on their high school reunion night when Yunho wouldn't stop asking him ridiculous questions. He just brushed it off as Yunho being drunk but he still couldn't stop thinking about it. He blamed Changmin that night and hit him as hard as he could as a punishment for giving Yunho such ideas. But Changmin said that all he said are based on facts and he is smart enough to calculate those things and such. He really just wanted to smack Changmin sometimes, that smartass.
When Jaejoong and Junsu arrived almost all their friends already arrived. Yoochun (Junsu's boyfriend), Heechul, Taeyeon, Tiffany, Changmin and Seunghyun are seated in a secluded part of the cafe. Yoochun immediately pulled his boyfriend beside him so Jaejoong is left to sit beside Seunghyun because he didn't want to sit beside Yoosu. God knows what those two would do under the table
if they become bored later.
"Hey guys! You are late!" Changmin said as they sit and looked at they cafe's menu.
"Junsu's the one who drive so blame his driving skills." Jaejoong said as he high five Changmin while everyone laughed.
"Yaaahh! Atleast we arrived safe and sound. I'm the best driver you could ever have." Junsu protested then grinned.
"Yeah right. I bet 5,000 won he drive with his mouth again." Changmin teased Junsu again and high five Jaejoong again.
"Enough with my Junsu. Who else will come?" Yoochun asked.
"Just Yunho. The other won't be able to come because of their sudden work. You know, Christmas is just around the corner." Heechul said eyeing Jaejoong. Heechul, Changmin and of course Junsu are their only friends who knew Jaejoong's feelings for Yunho before. So since last week's incident Heechul's been keeping an eye on Jaejoong. "Speaking of the devil. Here he comes."
"And why did he brought that girl? Ugh, I can't stand to see her sticking to Yunho like an octopus." Tiffany said as they watch
Yunho and his girlfriend make way into the cafe.
"Me and you. The same." Taeyeon said as she give Tiffany a wink. For whatever reason, the girls in their small circle of friends doesn't like Ara, Yunho's girlfriend. But they suck it up and give the girl a fake smile for the sake of their friend.
"Hi guys! Sorry we're late. I fetched Ara from her work because her driver got stuck in the traffic. She'll just wait for her driver here. It's okay right?" Yunho said as he guided Ara to sit beside Junsu and take the vacant seat beside Jaejoong. The girls wanted to roll their eyes upon seeing Ara scoot her chair
near Yunho and hook her arms around her boyfriend as if someone would take Yunho away from her.
"That's fine. Jaejae and Junsu also just got here." Seunghyun said while circling one arm around Jaejoong. It's an open secret (minus Jaejoong) that Seunghyun got a huge crush on Jaejoong way back in high school. And he would often sweet talk Jaejoong while Yunho's not around. (They all know how posses--, no protective Yunho is to Jaejoong)
But it is all in the past now, and only the right people must know. Heechul gave Seunghyun a thumbs up as he saw little frown on Yunho's face. As all of you must know, Heechul and Changmin actually planned everything tonight. From this "catch up" meeting to Junsu fetching Jaejoong up to their seating arrangement, it was all planned. A plan to make Yunho man up and confess his feelings to Jaejoong. They all know about Yunho's feelings for Jaejoong, it is actually quite obvious despite them masking it as just being utterly close and comfortable to each other. Not to mention Jaejoong being oblivious and gullible back in high school. And Yunho's reaction about their teasing a week ago sealed their suspicion that Yunho still have feelings for Jaejoong. It was actually just ann innocent teasing on Changmin's part because they all know Yunho have a girlfriend and was already planning to propose to her but they way Yunho reacted made their decision to interfere with their friends' relationship.
"Have you decided what to order yet Jaejae?" Asked Seunghyun, "Look they have pastas too. Try their seafood pasta they said it's their best seller here."
"No, Joongie have an allergy to shrimp. Their spaghetti meatballs are better. You love tomato based pastas, right Joongie?" Yunho said nonchalantly said while scanning the menu. They are all speechless after what Yunho said. After almost seven years of no communication and not seeing each other Yunho still remembered Jaejoong's allergy and favorite food.
"Well, uhm, yeah! Jaejoong you must try their spaghetti meatballs it's delicious. Right Changmin?" Junsu said trying to break the silence caused by Yunho while making his eyes bigger to signal Changmin to respond.
"Yeah, and try it with their fruit teas it's the best!" Changmin suggested with a thumbs up.
Then Yunho's phone
suddenly rings
and he stood up to answer the call. When one of the cafe's baristas approach their table
to get the order of the latecomers.
Despite Junsu and Changmin's distraction Ara still lingers on what Yunho said. Yunho is really forgetful. He often forget his schedules and even lose his things. It's so bad he still forgets their anniversary and more so even their birthdays. So for Yunho to still remember that information about Jaejoong, he must really be an import
person for him. She'll just talk to Yunho tomorrow since he asked her to meet up for lunch. She thinks Yunho is trying to make up for his absence that last few months due to his work.
Junsu and Jaejoong already said their orders and ask Ara to just order for Yunho since she would definitely know Yunho's favorite drink and food being his girlfriend. She ordered a sandwich and a cup of brewed coffee. Upon hearing Ara's order for Yunho, Jaejoong kicks Heechul, who sits across him, under the table to get his attention and keeps on giving him an X motion with his hands and mouthing brewed coffee. Trying to tell him to do something so she wouldn't order brewed coffee for Yunho. Jaejoong knew that Yunho can't eat or drink bitter food. He hope Yunho still haven't change his preferences.
"I think I heard a while ago that they ran out of brewed coffee already. Just order a cafe latte for him." Heechul said then glared at the barista as if to warn her not to say anything or else she's dead. With Heechul's deadly glare, the barista just handed them a buzzer and told them that they'll buzz them if their orders are ready at the pick up counter.
"We'll, I think cafe latte is a great choice too." Ara said as she gave the menu back to the barista.
Jaejoong then secretly went to the counter and ask the barista to mix a little bit of sugar syrup and put cinnamon powder on top
of the cafe latte they ordered.He can still remember that Yunho drinks his cafe latte this way before when they still hang out during their early college days. He then went back to their table
the same time Yunho also went back.
When they are all seated they chat for a few minutes asking each other how they've been and their works then the buzzer lighted signaling that their orders are ready, Jaejoong being the closest to the counter reached for the buzzer and was about to stand up when Seunghyun told him to just sit down.
"No, I'll help. I'm pretty sure there are more than one tray to carry." Jaejoong stand up and Seunghyun follows while putting one arm around Jaejoong's shoulder.
The whole time Jaejoong and Seunghyunare getting the orders, Heechul's staring at Yunho who is staring at Jaejoong and should we say glaring at Seunghyun.This is fun and exciting for Heechul for he also doesn't like Ara for his dear friend. For the sole reason that he knows that Jaejoong is more suited
for Yunho than Ara because of a hundred reasons that he will not enumerate or we'll waste a lot of time stating the obvious.
Jaejoong and Seunghyun went back to their table and distributed the orders to the right owners. Yunho sips his coffee and was amazed because this is how he usually drinks his coffee. Ara finally got his coffee right after years of being together. "Wah, babe, thanks for this." Yunho smiled to Ara thinking that she's the one who ordered the coffee for him.
"I think Heechul deserves that thank you. He's the one who ordered it for you." Tiffany said and gives Heechul a grin as if asking to be praised.
"That's nothing. I just randomly ordered since Ara's order for you is not available. And I think an angel whispered something to the barista who made it." Heechul said and winked at Yunho.
"Really?. Well, I think I owe thatt angel one. This is exactly how I drink my coffee everyday." Yunho took another sip of his coffee and smiled.
Jaejoong hid his smile behind his own cup of tea latte. So Yunho still drinks his coffee that way and Jaejoong is curious about the things that haven't changed with Yunho. And he thinks not a lot of things have changed about Yunho. Like right now, Jaejoong can bet his month's salary that Yunho lost his scarf somewhere from home to office because that tall handsome man tends to lost his scarf a lot. Yunho would go out with complete winter get up but once he got home he either lost his scarf or gloves.
Heechul thinks it is the perfect time to execute their plan but Ara is still with them. They might loose their chance if they wait more. 'Whatever, it is that girl's fault for being here.' Heechul thinks as he gave a signal to Changmin and Seunghyun to start their plan.
Seunghyun started by giving Jaejoong a bite of his sandwich from his fork and putting his arm at the back of Jaejoong's chair
. Then here comes Changmin.
"So Jaejoong hyung, we are all curious about you.You inly keep contact with that duckbutt. How's life?" Changmin asked starting off their plan.
"Well not much change. I'm good, I just got promoted a few months back at the hotel
. Sorry for not keeping in contact much with everyone. Junsu work and live near me so I got to meet him often. Sorry guys." Jaejoong explained after sipping his coffee.
"Jaejoong hyung dense as ever. We wanted to know about your lovelife not your everyday life." Changmin said as he take a bite of his sandwich.
"Jaejae, any guy treating you special at work?" Taeyeon asked excitedly
"Eh? No. How would-- why would they?" Jaejoong asked back at Taeyeon. Jaejoong normaly treats his friends equally. Either girl or boy he doesn't mind having skinship with.
"You know, like waiting for you until your shift ends. Or calling you after every shift to talk to you about what happened that day. You know those kind of sweet things" Tiffany aswered for Taeyeon. They are all waiting for Jaejoong to answer. Since their high school days Jaejoong are oblivious to guys or girls who likes him. Not to mention Yunho who is overprotective over their friend.
Jaejoong was about to answer that no one treats him like that at work when Junsu said, "Siwon! That's his name right Jae? The one who always walk you at the employees entrance. You also told me before that he would always call you after his or your shift. That guy's name is Siwon right?"
"Yeah, Siwon is my friend. We are batchmates in the hotel
. He is like my bestfriend at work." Jaejoong explained to his friends. He and Siwon are pretty close since they started to work at the hotel
. they work themselves up to where they are now.
“Really Jae? This Siwon calls you every after shift? And walks you everyday to the employees’ entrance?” Heechul asks Jaejoong which he replied with a nod. Jae was about to explain that they really are just good friends that care about each other when,
“Normal friends don’t do such acts. Normally a boyfriend, someone special or someone who’s courting you do that Jae. No one would do that just because you are friends.” Yoochun said.
“It looks like someone finally got a lovelife but was not aware of it.” Tiffany teased Jaejoong who keeps on shaking head and saying that that is really not the case.
“Is he handsome? How tall is he? Oooh, I really wanna see the guy. Tell him to come here Jae.” Taeyeon said excitedly. This is the first time they heard that Jaejoong have a not so secret admirer.
While everyone was excited about Jaejoong’s lovelife, Heechul was observing Yunho. Yunho stop midway of eating his sandwich when Junsu told them about this Siwon guy. He frowned at what Yoochun said. The cup he was holding was about to break from his strong hold when Tiffany suggested to call the man and invite him there. Everything was caught by Heechul.
Tiffany got a hold of Jaejoong’s phone when someone texted Yunho that the driver already arrived but he cannot announce it since everyone was very excited about Jaejoong’s lovelife. And he also wanted to hear more about that guy though he can feel that familiar feeling of having the need to protect his dear friend. Jaejoong was trying to get his phone back and when Tiffany said that he found Siwon’s name on the phone and was about to call. Before Tiffany could push the call button Yunho, who was at his wits end, stand up dragging his chair that made everyone seated at the table pause and look at him.
“Ara’s driver just arrive. I’ll walk her to the car.” Yunho said when he saw that all eyes are on him. Ara is also puzzled about his boyfriend’s actions. She saw how tight he holds his cup of coffee to the point that she thought it would break. She also saw the frown on his boyfriend’s face when everyone got excited about Jaejoong’s work friend. His boyfriend is really weird tonight but she’ll just ask him questions tomorrow at lunch. After saying goodbye to Yunho’s friends he walks to the front of the cafe where her driver is waiting.
Heechul decided to follow and wait for Yunho outside the cafe. It seems like Yunho needs a big push for their plan to be successful. When he saw Yunho guided his girlfriend inside the car and dodge the kiss she was about to give him Heechul smirks. It seems like they really are together out of habit just like what Donghae, Yunho’s bestfriend, told him.
Yunho was about to head inside the cafe when someone pulled him at the cafe’s table outside. When he turned around it was just Heechul. “Yah! I thought it was some psycho. I was about to hit you.”
“Well, good thing you didn’t or you won’t be hearing this big secret I was about to tell you.” Heechul said as he pulls his winter jacket around him and cross his arms. He looked at Yunho and raised his brows.
“Secret? What gossip have you heard now? Are they from Tiffany? You know that she’s really not a very reliable source.” Yunho is not interested about any gossip right now. He just wanted to go back inside and know whether they already called that man up or not.
“It’s about your Joongie. And no, it’s not from Tiffany, it’s from Junsu” Yunho was surprised but he composed himself before Heechul sees any reaction from his face. But he was already too late Heechul saw a lot already tonight. “I think you’re not that interested. Let’s just go inside then.”
“Joongie? Since it’s from Junsu tell me what it is.” Yunho become really curious now. A secret about Jaejoong that Heechul acquired from Junsu. Heechul motions for Yunho to come closer to him.
“I know you still have feelings for Jae.” Heechul whispered to Yunho. And before Yunho could react he continue saying, “Don’t ask how or why I know. I just do. Let me just give you a piece of advice my dear friend. Break up with your girlfriend and tell Jaejoong how you really feel. As promise here’s the juicy info I got from the duckbutt. Jaejoong likes you too. And from what I know you currently have two rivals. The ball is in your court now buddy.” Heechul then pats Yunho’s shoulder and walks inside leaving Yunho frozen and speechless from what he just heard from him.
Heechul wouldn’t lie or joke about something like this. Of course, Heechul the diva likes to gossip and stir up rumors but he wouldn’t do it to his friends. And an information like that from Jaejoong’s bestfriend. Yunho thinks it is about damn time he confesses to his first love. Screw whatever relationship he have now. They’ve been together out of habit for a few years now and he was actually planning on breaking up with Ara tomorrow that is why he wanted to have lunch with her.
Meanwhile inside the cafe, two girls are fighting for Jaejoong’s phone to see Siwon’s picture because Jaejoong doesn’t allow them to call the guy because he is currently working. Heechul went back to his seat called Jaejoong’s attention and said, “Jae I think someone’s looking for you outside.”
“Is it the Siwon guy?? Where?” Tiffany asked Heechul while trying to look for a guy outside.
“Sit down Tiffany.” Heechul said seriously that Tiffany just obey him. Jaejoong was pointing at himself looking at Heechul. When Heechul mouthed ‘Go’ to him, he just went out of the cafe puzzled as to who might be looking for him.
When Jaejoong went outside he looked left and right but sees no one besides Yunho who was sitting alone in one of the tables right outside the cafe. So he just went to sit with Yunho thinking that Heechul played a prank on him. He smiled at Yunho as he sits down beside him.
“Ara left already?” Yunho just nods at him and gave him a small smile. “Why are you still here? It’s freezing cold, come on lets go back inside.” Jaejoong said urging Yunho to stand up and go back to their table inside.
“Jaejoong, I like you.” Yunho suddenly said as he gazes straight to Jaejoong’s eyes.
Jaejoong was stunned but he quickly recovered and smile because he knows Yunho like to say random things like this, “Don’t worry, I like you too.”
“No, that’s not what I meant. I like you, Joongie.” Yunho said as he holds Jaejoong’s hand and intertwine their fingers. “No, I think it’s better to say that I love you. I’ve been in love with you since we were in high school.”
It is Jaejoong’s turn to be frozen and speechless after what Yunho said. A thousand thoughts and questions are running in his head. ‘Is it real? Yunho really loves me? Is this a dream? No that can’t be, he’s with Ara. He’s already planning to propose to her.’
“This is not a nice joke Yunho. You and Heechul are trying to trick me, aren’t you? Okay you can stop now, I already caught you guys.” Jaejoong forced out a laugh trying to hide his chaotic mind.
“I am serious Joongie. I already kept this for a very long time.” Yunho’s tone now was very serious that left Jaejoong silent for a minute or two and is trying his best to avoid Yunho’s eyes.
“Jaejoong please say something, anything.” Yunho tightened his hold on Jaejoong’s hands and is trying to catch his eyes.
“Why now?” Jaejoong is trying to release his hand from the other’s grip but Yunho just tightened his hold more to let Jaejoong know that he really is serious right now. “We haven’t seen or talked to each other for nearly 8 years and on top of that you have a girlfriend Yunho. Donghae told us that you are already planning to propose to her. And you are now telling me this? That you are serious about this? What about Ara?”
“I never said that I’ll propose to Ara. I just told Donghae that I’m ready to settle down now that Dad’s company is stable and strong.” Yunho tried to explain. “I am going to talk to Ara tomorrow and end things up between us formally. We’ve been together out of habit for a few years now. I don’t know what happened but after I saw you again last week, I’ve been thinking about you a lot. I wanted you back not as a friend but more than that. You are a very important person in my life Joongie and I won’t let you go this time.”
“I don’t know Yunho. This is really complicated.” Jaejoong said after hearing out Yunho’s explanation.
“You don’t have to answer me right now. Just please give a chance.” Yunho will work things out to the best that he can so Jaejoong can finally be his.
“Okay. Let’s talk again after you settle and iron out everything with Ara.” Jaejoong said.
And Yunho cannot help but hug Jaejoong tight and thank him numerous times before letting him go and say, “I love you Joongie and thank you so so much. Please wait for me.”
He won’t lie and deny himself something that he was dreaming of since he was in high school. Yunho is his first and only love. But he won’t let their relationship start with someone else’s tears so he’ll wait for Yunho to sort everything out with Ara before telling him that he loves him too.
Back inside the cafe a group of friends are giving each other highfives and thumbs up for a job well done. Seriously, what would those two do without their loyal friends’ help? They will never let Yunho forget the help they give so that he can finally have Jaejoong formally. After 5 years of friendship and 7 years of separation they finally realize that they belong to each other.

a/n: I seriously didn't know what happened! this started off on my phone
out of boredom then I decided to transfer it here and share with everyone but lj kept on crashing on me so I decided to write everything up on word first then transfer everything back here and that took me 3 days! I think this is the longest i've ever written.
sorry for the mistakes i didn't double check anything and i haven't been polishing up my writing skills. please forgive me.
