I've figured out why I hate living on my floor so much, namely because it's like living in a porn store: bad, vaguely thudding music coming out of random locations; funny smells (both legal and illegal) wafting down the hall pretty much 24/7; and a population of shady guys who can't get any. Most definitely a date, darling. You are also most definitely not a giant douche; I clearly wasn't the easiest person to schedule with either. But this summer, oh, there will be chai and opera!

Hey, at least for the funny smells, have you ever tried a lemon bowl? Go with me for a second on this. I remember this being a short-term solution we tried on a guys floor in my dorm last year (the ultimate solution was new carpeting and all that). You get a bowl of boiling water, and boil a sliced lemon or two. The smell spreads pretty far, but it also actually has a somewhat deodorizing effect. Yay! Maybe wander the interwebs, see if there's anything to this or if I'm making it up, but I don't think I am. As for the shady guys, ever tried carrying threatening objects, like decorative blades, or a paintball gun? Muahahahaha!

Yay, summer! I'll have to try the lemon method. The evil eye method has kept most of the shady jock dudes on the floor at bay. Failing that, I hear car keys make great impromptu weapons :-)

Does it smell like jizz and broken dreams, like Selective Video does?

I can relate to the thudding music, because the people in the apartment above mine like to dance, but a good chunk of the building's tenants are Indian students, so I just get to smell a lot of yummy food.

Not to make you jealous or anything...

I miss you lots 'n' lots :(

Yeah, a combination of sex juice, dreams that withered on the vine before they really got anywhere, slightly charred carpet, and pot smoke that has been accumulating from my neighbor's week-long smokeathon. Yum.

Mmmm, Indian food...

I miss you too--you are also at the top of my summer hit list (the good kind) :-)
