So, I got an email on the English Dept. mailing list--apparently, a large Czech lawfirm is looking for a Grinnell senior to hire for a 1-year position as a proofreader/editor. The job is full-time, with good pay and benefits, and you get to live and work in Prague!
I'm pretty sure I need to apply for this RIGHT FREAKING NOW...
So, Grinnell somehow managed to snag a one-night performance by the St. Petersburg Ballet, which is currently touring the U.S. They did a version of "Carmen," but it was this crazy techno-remix thing, and it was FREAKIN' AWESOME.
So, the divorce was finalized in November. I just found out that my Dad's started dating someone, the widow of someone who used to work at his firm. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about all this...

Wow...2008 is off to a magical start as The Year of People Asking Me If I'm Lesbian. Not that I've ever noticed, family members, but I'm glad you're okay with it if I were. You get your PC points for the day.

One of the upshots of living in a liberal enclave in Iowa this year:
-Earlier this semester: Madeleine Albright -Last month: Bill Richardson, John Edwards, Hillary Clinton -This past week: Barack Obama, Joe Biden -Monday: Bill Clinton
And yet, I am still so, so underwhelmed and apathetic.
