Fictober 2019 Day 23 - Prompt: Baking
Title: Baking
Pairing: Shimekake Ryuya / Kawashima Noeru
A/N: Day 23 of the Fictober Challenge I decided to try (here) .
Day 23 - Baking
“How much longer? You said it wasn’t going to take long…”
“It hasn’t taken that long, you just didn’t do much and that’s why you’re bored.”
Shime frowns at that, is pretty sure he has been sitting on the counter long enough to justify his boredom, and Noeru being so slow and careful with the cake they’ve been baking and that’s now in the oven, is certainly not helping.
“Can you put the butter back into the fridge? We’re not going to use it anymore.” Noeru asks, eyes still nailed on the oven, and Shime pouts, jumps down from the counter to do what he’s been asked. He unties his apron while doing so, no need for that anymore anyway, and casually drops it on the nearest chair, finally opening the fridge. He can hear Noeru humming behind him, turns to look at the table over his shoulder once again. They’ll have to clean this, too, but Shime is definitely not willing to do so right now.
“Done.” He says with a groan, and finally, Noeru turns to look at him, makes Shime chuckle, tilting his head. “There’s flour on your cheek.”
“There’s some on your hair, too.” Noeru comments lightly, and Shime gasps, hands already in his locks. “I’m kidding, don’t have a stroke, please.”
“You-“ Shime half-growls, but Noeru is already up on his feet, flashing a victorious smile at him, makes the younger one pull him closer, his thumb brushing over his cheek. “That’s not funny, you know?”
“It is a little funny, especially when you switch into panic mode like that.” Noeru shrugs, running his thankfully clean fingers through Shime’s hair, making sure he won’t mess up with his bangs. “Want to help me with the syrup, too?”
“You’re not fair…” Shime sighs, but he’s already wrapping arms around Noeru’s neck, will help with anything as long as he doesn’t have to clean the kitchen later…
