Day 28 - Haunted/Paranormal
“Don’t cross, don’t cross, you don’t want to go there…”
The bridge, it stands still, empty, but the voice…it makes Reo look around again, even though he knows that there is no one around. It’s the third time, the third time he’s standing there, coming back because he thought he was crazy when he first heard it.
They’ve built another bridge to be able to cross over to the other side. This one has been abandoned for years. Haunted, they say. Haunted by the boy that eats people’s souls, then throws them down in the river.
“Can I see you?” he asks, still considers taking one step on the bridge. He feels a shift in the wind, something different, but still, nobody shows up. “I can hear you, but I can’t see you…”
The wind, it blows the leaves on the bridge away, makes them fly before they slowly drop on the still waters, floating away. Reo takes another look around. But he’s alone. He’s still alone.
“Are you evil? Will you kill me? If I step on the bridge?”
“You don’t want to go where this bridge goes…” the voice says again. Warning, agonizing. How can that voice belong to someone bad?
“I want to see you.” He whispers, and then he feels it, a soft touch in his hair. But there’s no one behind him.
