You noticed SO many things that also had me scratching my head! I'm just gonna go through and comment as I see them:

1) Also WTF dude, why are you supporting Morgana. Arthur is YOUR FUCKING NEPHEW, Morgana has no relation to you (brother in law's bastard kid). Yes I get that you may well be pissed at Uther for, you know, engineering the death of your sister but why are you trying to kill your own nephew? You don't appear to have any kids so if you want a legitimate Pendragon on the throne (who's going to last more than a few years) why are you working with Morgana? Okay so you're probably going to try and double cross her to get the throne yourself but seriously man.THIS! Agravaine's motives are only mysterious because NO MOTIVE CAN POSSIBLY FIT HIS BEHAVIOR! If he loves his sister enough to want revenge on Uther for her death, than it would logically follow that he would also love her son (AKA the only link to his sister he has left!)! If he simply wants the throne for himself, he doesn't even NEED Morgana, he's doing just fine by ( ... )

If he simply wants the throne for himself, he doesn't even NEED Morgana, he's doing just fine by himself. Arthur just guilelessly made him second-in-command! Which means that if Agravaine can engineer Arthur's death, HE'S THE NEW RULER OF CAMELOT! No Morgana necessary! Except maybe as a scapegoat for Arthur's untimely demise.

I know. He's already next in line for the throne. Kill Arthur, blame it on Morgana, the knights trust him and Uther wouldn't last much past the death of his son. Boom. Bam. King of Camelot.

Honestly the only thing I can think of is that she's gotten some sort of blackmail on him.

Morgana doesn't seem to have any allies left. There's Mordred, but he's just a boy still. Her best bet would be to team up (marry/form an alliance) with a king ( ... )

Though it made me sort of proud of her, that entire scene also had me going: "WTF?"

I was sitting there with my feminism going 'Go Gwen!' and my common sense going 'Shut up you moron and run away'. She just contradicted the acting King in front of his court. She doesn't have Morgana or Arthur to back her up or get her out of trouble. At the very least that should have gotten her fired. Previously she's had the sense to talk to Arthur privately about things she wants him to change and they're 'in love'.

That and why was she even there in the first place? I can understand Gaius being there, he's been a loyal friend to the King and is also in charge of Uther's health. So he needs to report back to either the council or Agravaine about Uther's condition. Why was Gwen there? She had no reason to be.

First of all, Gwen's not just a servant, she's a woman, to boot! Judging by the fact that every last person on that council had a Y chromosome, I don't think that's one of the things that the show has decided to be blithely anachronistic ( ... )

"I had a bit of a giggle over the fact that Lancelot is the only one to have a white horse."
I did too! It's because he's noble and prectically perfect in every way, Mary Poppins Style. Within that year we missed, I would have liked to have seen the image of Arthur seeing Lancelot cantering out of this beautiful white steed and then turning to see his own horse rolling in mud and eating a trough of fruit. In my head, that happened.

Somebody in the Beeb listened to my whinging about how badly Arthur was treating Merlin and fixed him
It's strange isn't it? Kind of eerie at how they've actually given their relationship some development instead of starting each episode like they'd never met each other before. I really liked it in these two episodes. It was still very much a lot a teasing, but it had a lot of heart along with it.

Merlin. Wibble. His expression when his powers wouldn't work and his ensuing fear of them really hit a chord with me. That was really heartbreaking wasn't it? It goes to show that his magic, isn't just a ( ... )
