Normal people, as a rule, don't knock on the doors of restrooms and ask if the occupants are okay; they look the other way and pretend not to notice distress, or bloodied hands, or hooded faces.

But H.M. Murdock wasn't a normal person by any stretch of anyone's imagination, so it was with concern but no real sense of the oddity of what he was doing that he raised his hand to knock against the bathroom door again. "Hello? Anybody home? I said, you need any assistance, ma'am?"

[[/waves. Heya! Also the mun of guriel and a few others, but I figured this guy fit the scenario best. :)]]

She took a breath, released it, and let herself find that place deep inside where there was stillness. "I'm fine." she said, in a confident tone, then turned the water off and dried her hands with a paper towel. Slowly, she opened the door and stepped out. At first she thought it was just the manager, but this was obviously not him. She tilted her head to one side, her gaze moving over the mans face, assessing him carefully. "See, I'm okay."

[[ Sweet! A different character. :) ]]

The man looked her over in return, pushing a battered blue ball cap back on his forehead to get a better look. She surely did seem okay, although he wasn't entirely fooled. He knew blood when he saw it -- he'd seen enough. But. Bad manners to pry, after all -- at least directly. "Sure seems so, ma'am. Sorry to intrude. Just ain't every day a man looks up from his newspaper and sees someone all bloody beelinin' to the back of the counter, is all."
