I know lots of really nice people in Chicago. Even some people you would know. Remember Mike O'Sullivan, the assistant in JLowe's inking class? He lives there with his boyfriend.

Lots of great comic shops there too. Plus, chris ware and Ivan Brunetti live down the street.(I hear they're really nice to local cartoonists.)
