Word Count: 577
Prompt:
exoplosion's 7th Challenge (Lost in Thought)
Pairing: Sehun/Luhan
Rating: PG
Summary: Sehun wakes up to the realization that he can hear Luhan's thoughts.
Bursts of colour spread over the nothingness around him like ink soaking through sheets of paper. One breath to calm, another to relieve, then he's diving down, down, down into swirls of pink, yellow, and blue. Faster and faster yet still slow enough for the ticking of the clock to stream after him. He revolves in the air, trying to remove himself from Time's watchful eyes. But he’s slowing and slowing and it’s suffocating. Incoherent phrases are tossed in and out of his ears until one finally becomes clear.
He looks so cute when he's sleeping
The words echoed into Sehun's dreams, dragging consciousness back to his body. He keeps his eyes closed, wishing desperately to fall back asleep.
I wonder if I could...
Sehun felt warm lips pressing against his own. His eyes fluttered open, causing the person leaning over him to jolt away. It took several moments for Sehun’s eyes to adjust to the harsh midday lights before he could see the pink staining Luhan’s cheeks as he fumbled with the remote, pretending he had been innocently watching television the entire time. The blank screen and the missing battery in the remote wasn’t helping his alibi.
Shit.
“Did you have a good rest?” He asked Sehun with the best poker-face he could manage. Sehun nodded in return as he brushed over his bottom lip with his fingertips. Luhan rose and walked over to the cabinet, clumsily pulling out a handful of batteries.
“That’s good. You looked exhausted after practice.” He fumbled with inserting another battery before clicking on the T.V. and purposely sitting on the other couch away from Sehun.
I hope he hadn’t noticed.
“Noticed what?” Sehun pulled himself into a proper sitting position. Luhan flinched in his seat and the remote toppled to the floor.
Damnit. He knows.
Then Sehun realized, somehow, in some way, he could hear his hyung’s thoughts.
Luhan played anxiously with the hem of his shirt. “I-I.. What are you talking about?”
After warily eyeing Luhan down, Sehun shrugged and headed to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee. “Nevermind.”
Luhan shifted uncomfortably on the couch when Sehun chose to sit directly beside him, coffee in hand. “What’s up, hyung?” He asked while subtly brushing an arm against the older’s.
Luhan audibly swallowed and kept his eyes cast on the ground. “Not much.”
Stop looking at me so much. You’re making me nervous.
Unable to contain himself, Sehun let out a small snicker and patted Luhan on the shoulder.
“I’m sorry. I can’t help it.”
Luhan’s jaw hit the floor.
He quickly picked it back up and linked his fingers together over, playing with his thumbs.
“You just look so cute when you’re flustered.” Sehun ran dancing fingers down Luhan’s back causing him to shudder and shift away, red painting his cheeks.
“Don’t tease me.”
Deciding to test out the waters, Sehun sipped, sighed, and licked his lips slowly. It took all of Luhan’s nerve to keep his gaze pointed ahead.
I can’t look. I can’t look.
A soft hand cupped Luhan’s chin and gently persuaded him to meet Sehun’s eyes. Sehun watched as Luhan automatically eyed his lips, and chuckled to himself.
Kiss me.
“Don’t mind if I do.” One moment he was leaning closer, Luhan’s breath hitching within his throat, the smell of apple and pine flooding his senses. The next, their lips touched and Sehun swore this was better than finishing his nap.
