Author's Notes: I incorporated the idea of "guilty pleasures" into the theme of addictions. I hope everyone enjoys!
Jongin took in a slow shaking breath as his nails dug their way into his sides. It was a strange prickling sensation he had grown used to; a nervous habit of slight self harm. His tongue swiped out and licked across the jaggedness of his cracked lips; they felt raw and dry under the damp warmth. They needed to be quenched.
He felt as though speaking was utterly impossible by this point. The growing blockage in the back of his throat suffocated him into silence; There wasn't much to say regardless. It was exactly as Kyungsoo saw. Complete and utter obscenity.
Jongin wanted to explain. He wanted to reach out and latch onto him before he disappeared through those doors. He wanted someone to squeeze tight to his chest. Someone to tell him it would be alright--this would all be over.
Instead, he stayed seated on the edge of his bed unmoving. Nails only dug deeper as his anxiety bubbled, now leaving unnoticed ribbons of blood seeping his loose shirt. If only Kyungsoo had known how deep he’d fallen. How his addiction lead to self loathing tendencies and non healing scars.
The embedded nails were removed; a shaking hand reached out to the bedside table. He reached for comfort. Simultaneously he reached for destruction.
Cool glass pressed against his lips and Jongin knew that soon he’d forget everything. He relished in the rain of liquids igniting his throat. The burn was welcome; it was a penance and a price.
Numerous bottles had already been emptied, glass lying smashed at his bare feet, but it wasn't enough. No, not yet. His vision shook, but his reality was too firm. Kyungsoo’s disappointed look was still stamped into his thoughts.
He had to rinse it out. He had to escape.
