Warning: I don't think there's ...
Word Count: 560
Author's Notes: Hey, I've never made a post like this. And this is my original Trying To Write ChainShipping Fic from a month and a half ago. I thought I'd go ahead and get this on here if there's not much being posted recently.

Although it was too good to be true, he and Lawrence were fully together inside Adam's head. And he knew it was nothing.

Sure, Adam's head played through countless fantasies involving himself with Lawrence, although a single word had yet to pass between them. He really wasn't even thinking about it; Adam must have done the same with hundreds of people before Lawrence. It didn't even register that, while he watched Lawrence drink his smoothie, he was imagining a few other places for his mouth to be. He didn't feel anything.

Adam ate, he slept, and he walked. He did what he needed to survive; it wasn't much. And Adam slept while he walked.

Photographing Lawrence's window after following him home, Adam ran a scenario through his mind: Adam walked into Lawrence's home after him; Adam was not seen as a stranger, and he was not kicked out; Lawrence ...

Lawrence came back outside, and Adam followed him all the way to a motel. For a minute he pondered his lack of a cigarette; then he went on to ask himself what it would take for him to be the one the guy sneaked off to fornicate with, the mistress to the adulterer, for once. Realizing the answer was probably his lack of body parts he would never have, he tried to return to the moment before when he had cared a little bit less.

When Lawrence came out of the motel room Adam was unseen by him. Adam was good at being invisible; he'd been practicing for a very long time. He was never caught by those he stalked, let alone those he wanted to be friends with. Although it was his job to see others and capture them with his camera without being seen by them, he was seen by nobody. He was invisible. And he was alone.

Then, all of a sudden, he and Lawrence were thrust together. Adam couldn't hide this time. He was a mystery, and eventually Lawrence would want to know everything. He wasn't invisible. He used to carry nothing; he used his key and walked away carrying Lawrence, who carried his foot. And they saved each other.

Lawrence came out--metaphorically this time--weeks later, while sitting on Adam's couch and holding a beer he would end up not drinking. For Adam this wasn't exactly surprising, but it was exciting; he'd imagined himself with Lawrence and others all the time, so in his world it was kind of like everyone was gay, but this time it was real. And Adam kind of blurted out that he'd been interested in Lawrence for a long time. It still wasn't surprising when Lawrence claimed to reciprocate. But now this didn't feel real; it felt like a dream. It didn't help and at the same time helped a lot--when they kissed.

Thus mistress status was achieved. Lawrence was married to a woman, although he claimed he wasn't "in love" with her. However it was evident things were different between him and Adam, and they became more and more. Adultery, their relationship should be considered wrong, but there wasn't anything Adam would give it up for. After all, it was what he had asked for.

Although it was too good to be true, he and Lawrence were fully together inside Adam's bed. And he knew it was everything.
