nina bruja = witch baby in spanish. i guess brujo would be the male form of witch. it's a book by francesca lia block. incidentally, the best book ever.

Do you remember back in 8th grade you'd eat your sandwiches in science, and the teacher would be all "James stop eating your sandwich!" so you'd hide it under the table and respond with your mouth full of partially chewed sandwich, "What sandwich?"
