two schools of thought: one is to reply in your entry, and the other is to reply in their lj. i prefer the 2nd. it's more commonly done the first in lj, the 2nd in xanga, i think.

I guess first school is more convenient for the poster. And it helps maintain the conversation, sorta like what Gmail does.

i enabled automated emailing of new comments on my account, so that when i do get a new comment, i get a nice little email with the comment in the body.

anyway, my point is, i feel like most people i know have this option enabled, so regardless of where you post your reply, in your journal or theirs, they would be notified of a reply.

(honestly though, i don't care that much about comments. i comment every now and then in people's journals to show that i still ... "care.")
