Yeah. The work background bit is definitely true. I know for certain that two jobs I've applied for, my facebook profile has been looked up.

Oh wow. How did you know they looked it up? Did they ask about something peculiar?

At a training session, the supervisor made a brief comment about how some of us should consider changing our facebook profiles. These were both university jobs though, so the accessibility of facebook is much higher. I'm not quite sure how it plays out at off-campus jobs...but either way it was kind of hilarious and kind of frightening. :X
