THANK YOU to michael zak for the concert and everything else last night. what a lovely date <3

mike and monkey, i hope you got my calls!!!

monkey, i NHEEEEEEEEEED you to come by tonight, cause i have $1 to my name... call me and let me know when you can come.

the curiosa festival was soooooooooooooooo awesome. we got there after 5 and got some EXPENSIVE ASS BEER (thanks, zak <3). we ran into ryan (kasperasaboy) selling shots for some church group, it was odd... anyways, we had seats so we sat down and caught the end of mogwai. eh, they had some good buildups, but i didn't like what they built up to ;) they had two stages. when one band was finished you had to go to the other stage, at least they didn't overlap!

we didn't catch starling or whatever they're called. we had a hot dog and another beer and stood in the misters. it was so WEIRD! this guy and this girl walk up and go "ivy, is amy st. lawrence here"? i said "who are you?" and it was this guy joe who went to our high school. the girl he was with had a shirt that said "sparkle motion", i guess that's a band, i just thought it was a donnie darko thing. we saw ryan again and zak bought me a kamakazi i couldn't finish. after that we went back to the main stage to see the rapture. they were awesome, though i wish i would have been dancing during their set. their music has a bite to it that makes you want to dance.

then we went to the "b" stage to see the cooper temple clause. we were RIGHT up front. they were good, but not as good as they were at coachella. the bass player looked like he was too cool for school and i think he thought he was better than everyone, it was fun to watch him play. there was this foreign girl who kept screaming during their set and calling people in a different language on her cell phone and she had a "TCTC" shirt... i think her and zak were the only ones who knew the songs ;)

when that was over we went to go check out interpol. i'd never heard them before and they were AWESOME!!! the lead singer's voice sounds like the guy from the smiths/morrisey. the lighting was really cool too. they'd have white light then switch to a solid colour and it was like they kept going from black and white to colour, i dunno, hard to describe. i enjoyed their set and i'd like to listen to a cd cause i couldn't catch the vocals.

when interpol was over, we got a soda and went to check out cursive. by cursive the cooper temple clause was signing cd's. zak got all excited, it was cute. so we stood in line, he bought a cd, and he got them to sign it. the lead singer guy was really nice. he talked with zak for a few minutes about coachella, the heat, beer, i dunno, i thought it was nice of the guy. while zak was waiting to get his cd, this BASTARD bumps into my soda, just knocks it to the ground, and doesn't even look back to see what he bumped into. CORNHOLER!!!!!!!! our poor soda lay in pain on the ground. we were sad about the soda for much of the night and we kept saying things like "i miss our soda" and "i wish the soda was here". i dunno, it was funny and SAD at the same time...

after the soda business we went back to our seats to wait for the cure! they opened with a song i recognized, plainsong i believe. their set was similar to the coachella set, only it was 2 hours long with more of the new stuff. i like the new stuff, but i'd rather hear the classics live, i dunno, some stuff is just better on your headphones than live and visa-versa (however you spell that). they played push, which surprised me, PICTURES OF YOU (my personal favourite), the edge of the deep green sea (and i called mikey <3), lovesong, inbetween, the end of the world, lots of good stuff that i can't remember. there were some great visuals, they had a greenish blue tinted sea on the screen during "edge of the deep green sea" and they made the back canvas wave around with a blueish light for a cloud look. they played an encore with just like heaven, boys don't cry, and one of the songs off wish that i can't remember. we thought they were done so we started leaving so we could beat the rush. then they came back out and played close to me (zak and i's song), so we started dancing in the walkway between the seats and lots of people were dancing, it was SO CUTE!!! but THEN, the EVIL SECURITY GUARDS told everyone to go back to their seats, so we kept sneaking around trying to dance. it was sad cause it was cute how everyone was just dancing. then they played lovecats and we were by the exit so we just danced away, it was fun. we could hear why can't i be you from the parking lot and danced a bit out there too. i heard on the radio they did three encores, but we were awful tired and we ended on a good note so i don't feel bad about leaving.

i had a great time and thanks again to my honey for making last night possible <3
