It's been a long time since I've been online and I noticed that will_riker has gone quiet. That's too bad because I enjoyed my conversations with him and I felt that he was someone who could offer some good advice. It's a tough job being first officer, especially if you have the pleasure of serving a headstrong tenacious captain.

I think the word the captain used at the conclusion of the slide show was "Interesting." She obviously didn't realize that her hair would be a matter of shipboard speculation.

I will grant you that I've had a few style changes over the last 5 years (which is perfectly natural--unlike say, hypothetically, if a certain Commander's hair abruptly went from hints of gray to entirely black). I had no idea that anyone was keeping track, or even cared. Though I suppose emh's fixation on hair is understandable (moreso than certain other people's fixation with *blonde* hair, I might add).

I liked having long hair--it's been past my shoulders most of my life. But it's not too practical. Having been told by *someone* that the style I was initially wearing it in when we first arrived in the DQ (and despite his denial I'm betting it was Tom Paris paristorres who came up with that 'Bun of Steel' moniker) was a little too 'severe' and 'intimidating', I opted for something else which would keep it up and out of my way. Either you mortals really have nothing better to do with your lives, or you're veritable fountains of comedic wit. I haven't quite decided which. The notion of a presentation on Kathy's hair is positively hilarious in a number of ways, and I'm not sure all of them were intentional.

A pity I wasn't there. The look on Kathy's face must have been priceless.
