UUs in Cambodia?

I'm leaving in a couple of months to spend six months in Cambodia.  UUA's website doesn't list any emerging or current congregations there, but I thought it was possible there was some sort of ad hoc group made up of UUs or even one that UUs just participated in.  I also wondered if there was there might be temples or volunteer projects that UUs ( Read more... )

Thanks! I figured no one would have any information on UU groups there, because they probably don't exist, but I figured it was worth a shot. I guess I'll be making do with podcasts and books while I'm there. I think I'll need some spiritual fortification.

Yes, not constantly but at least once every few days, I'm thinking now. That's assuming I stay in the city of Phnom Penh, though, and it's still possible that I might get sent out to the rural areas with less infastructure.

On the plus side, I'm going to visit a bunch of temples whenever I get the chance, and at some of them, the monks give meditation lessons. I think that would be really cool.

You could join Church of the Larger Fellowship which is part of the UU religion. CLF offers an outlet for folks who are not near to a church , check out their website in boston and join.
I was a member for a few years until I moved closer to a church, it was very enriching and I had an 800 # to clergy when needed. Good Louck

You know, I'm a moron. I don't get notifications to my e-mail when someone comments, so I never saw this comment. I found the CotLF today, actually, and got super excited about the possibilities. Facepalm! I could've been doing this for the past six months!
