To a point, I agree with you. However, what I've been trying to explain at work is that while this is a potentially deadly and worryingly out-of-season thing, that does not mean that people should lock themselves in their house for fear of contracting it. My sister caught it - she's OK now, but for the best part of a week she was seriously ill, and she had a "mild" case. I thought I might have it - I don't, I have a cold at worst - but that surely doesn't justify the attitude my mother and I met at work (they may as well have hung bells around our necks and started chanting "unclean", FFS).
It is no more deadly than "normal" flu. However, people have a chronic lack of respect for just how dangerous "normal" flu is. I live in fear of my Dad getting flu - he has heart problems and a history of pneumonia, and ranks pretty high in the vulnerable lists.
Bah, I ramble, and have lost the gist of what I was saying.
I know. They are the people who really have nothing at all to worry about. I worry about my nephews and nieces, my friends kids including Bethie, and also my mum and dad cus they are at risk too like me. The people who say its nothing to worry about obviously dont have anyone to worry about.
