This is simply lovely. Such simple, yet elegant turns of phrase, exactly as befits the theme.

This is absolutely beautiful. The language choice is vivid and evocative like poetry, for all that the form is prose. And you've dropped me right into Cazaril's head (heart?) so that I can feel the joy and stillness and peace.

And then the ending is just lovely, when we come to see that what has given Caz this joyful stillness is Betriz, and their love for each other.
