I once did a similar thing in high school. I played one
game of tennis barefooted not realizing my callus wasn't.
The next 3 days fortunately I spent in a car riding to
Wyoming and not having to walk very much. I coated my feet
in noxema and put on 3 pair of thick sox to be able to
walk at all. It was almost a month before the tenderness
wore off I wore sox all the time until then. There's a
numbing agent in the noxema for sunburn that also works on
sensitive skin. Just stay off your feet as much as possible.
