It's hard to read something in an exceedingly bad mood, but the story interested me so much I just kept going. It started off kind of slow, but I really liked where it went. It was a perfect combination of sweet, funny and angsty.

hey, thank you! I'm sorry if you had a bad day. And I'm glad if funny went into the mix, because it's usually the part I'm least sure about. Thanks for your comment.

I loved this. The different perspectives were nice, and the Pete and Danny ones were perspectives on Jack and Liz that I've wanted to see more in fic. And I do enjoy reading about Liz pining after Jack for a change, and, I agree, it is pretty appropriate for this season.

Thank you! I've been wanting to do a Pete-perspective for a long time. The Danny portion actually also started out (like the Pete) as its own story; hopefully it worked all clumped together, because I was way too lazy to keep developing them, hahah.

I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT FACT.

Oh, and I meant to mention this part:

She hates the idea of Jack spending his life with some woman who doesn't even know him that well -- who can't possibly know him well. Because Jack doesn't reveal himself to that many people, and even his girlfriends don't get very far. She doesn't think he lets them.

And how it is completely true, and also part of what bums me out about the idea of Jack and Liz not ending up together.

I agree; this was one of my favorite lines in the story. I know this feeling all too well.

Wow! How did I miss this on my friends list? Daaaaang. Obviously, it goes without saying that this is ahhh-mazing! I LOVE IT. Gosh, I love the build up as this goes along. And honestly, I never really thought anything oddly about Liz being the pursuer until that part where she confessed her feelings. At first, that just seemed, like, so crazy, that she would just admit that, but you know, sometimes, crap like that comes out at the most inopportune times (like, in front of a souvenir cart). It has definitely happened to me, I can say that with certainty. And, man, I got the craziest, most awesome feeling ever when they kissed; I swear, I haven't felt a swell of happiness like that in a while. (Is that really sad to admit?) I think sometimes when you're with someone for so long, you forget that adrenaline rush you feel when you kiss someone for the first time. Wow. Really, really awesome moment, for real ( ... )

Yeah, it did turn out really sudden, which I can kind of explain by saying that the center of this really started with the Liz section, and I was going to have her decide by the end that she should be brave and confront him. In the last line I still have a little of that. But then my initial idea was that she'd go up to his office and lay it out, but as I thought about it I got less enthused because it's been done before (by michellek - I'm pretty sure, or if not, similar scenarios, all more inventive than I could be with it) and also I just didn't know how I would go about writing it. Then the baseball game idea came up and I went with it, even though it took on a sense of "Liz brings it up out of nowhere" instead of "Liz reaches the boiling point and takes charge." BUT I do like the idea of serious, relationship-changing moments happening kind of randomly, and especially in public. And just, baseball games are the most romantic thing to me, ever, hahaha ( ... )

After reading this, I had to catch up on all the 30 Rock episodes I'd missed over the last few months (let's just say, I have a lot of stuff on the DVR right now), and everything made a lot more sense - especially the Avery story, which didn't quite resonate until I saw that episode. Also, I want to note, that during the episode where Jack and Liz are debating for Danny's attention, Jack references having season tickets to all the major sports teams, and in the one where they're at a baseball game (I think, they're sitting in front of a netted area at, what looks like, home base, but I could bring wrong), Jack is drinking something out of a short glass on the rocks. Which, ahem - not beer. This made me strangely proud. However, it brings up the minor point that Jack has taken Lemon to a game before so maybe the approach would have come off differently. I may have offered this advice earlier if I'd seen the episode when you sent me the message. Sorry about that ( ... )

No don't worry, I DELIBERATELY IGNORED that, because it was a pretty quick flashback scene and since I didn't notice (on first viewing) what type of game they were supposed to be at, I decided nobody else did, either. I wanted that baseball game, dammit!
