It is a well known fact that I have been pushing my friends towards a career in caribean piracy since the world was cooling and to date they've been content to climb up their little yuppie financial ladders towards the rope they'll eventually end their meaningless existences with.  I guess that could be considered better game than how I allow ( Read more... )

comms equipment within a tight radius can be easily disabled with a small EMP. you can build one out of a bunch of transformers and car batteries.

Most newer cruise ships have black box radio equipment that's shielded to radiation and power surges and has a separate emergency power source. Larger cruise ships have two. Even on smaller ships they are placed behind a steel door that can be sealed shut with either a standard swing bolt of with fusing explosive bolts, depending on individual design preference. You could use shaped charges to blow the door and anyone inside to hamburger but that alerts people to your presence.
I just don't like em, too many unknowns, fucking logistical nightmare.

eh. piracy has had its day. unless pole shift really does trigger sythetic breakdown, like the ascentionists say, i don't think it'll be possible.
