Jewelry Repair

Feb 05, 2012 11:01

I have several items of jewelry that need repaired. Looking for recommendations of a reputable jeweler! I have been to Christopher's Fine Jewelry on S. Neil, and that's fine, but I don't like how they try to coerce one into attending their gem sales.

Robert's is really great (28 E Chester St, Champaign, IL. Phone: 217-352-8618 --- right next to Seven Saints)

Robert designed and crafted my engagement and wedding rings and also designed a pendant for my mom-- he does really excellent work. He's never tried to coerce us into purchasing something (not even the items we were already in the store to purchase.)

Try Robert's Jewelry. They are over on Chester, between The Esquire & Seven Saints... or Spritz, also on Neil.

I've enjoyed working with Brian Knox Jewelry, but he doesn't appear to be in the jewelry business any longer.

FWIW, I went to several of the gemstone roundtables and it was fun and very educational, and I never felt pressured to buy anything. This was despite the fact that I was a poor student, and clearly not someone who would typically in the market for gems. Eventually, I was looking for a gift and has some money, and I saw something that was perfect, so perhaps it worked out for them in the end.
