[Sure, he's a Gym Leader, but he can't take the place of Red's mom. Or Leaf. Or the other Gym Leaders]

[Okay, this is going too far for his comfort. It's one thing for his rival to talk about what amounts to virtually keeping him in a box away from the rest of the world, but now Red actually feels threatened that it's going to happen. He tries harder to pull away.]

Green, let go.

[Green will refuse to let go. He clearly doesn't understand what's wrong or the fact Red is uncomfortable. Of course there's nothing wrong with any of his statement--so why would Red want him to let go of him? Oh, maybe he was embarrassed. That had to be it!]

Don't be shy. It's not like we haven't hugged before.

Green, let go. Y-You're sick. You're...

[Now he's actually struggling, hard, to pull away. Something is wrong with Green, and Red wants to help, but there's not much he can do if he can't move. And Red doesn't want to test exactly how far his rival is willing to take this sudden obsession.]

[Sick? Him? No no, of course he's not. Although he is touched by Red's concern for him. He will loosen his hold a little bit more.]

[Red bites his lip guiltily, failing to notice for the moment that Green has made no move to deny the 'locking him up' part of the accusation.]
