I read your blog comments on BSG and was trying hard not to duplicate them, but it was no use because we are braintwinned on Apollo and Cavil. And a good many others apparently.. *shifty eyes*
The first character I first fell in love with: Ichabod Crane. He is the most adorable fish-out-of-water. It's that lethal combination of honour, innocence, puzzlement and surprisingly flattering ancient trousers physical attractiveness. (If he looked like the canonical Ichabod, it might be a harder sell

The Bad Hessians make me laugh until I pee a little. Sometimes my husband sees my hilarity and asks what's going on with me and all I have to say in order to explain it is "improbable Hessians" and he totally gets it ;)
*nods* I keep expecting the network to be hit by a lawsuit by the Hessian Anti-Defamation League. Honestly, what's keeping them? If I were a Hessian I'd think about it. Easy money.
My husband took his degree in American revolutionary history (and is British!) so he's a great deal of fun to watch the show with. Even if he's a bit embarrassed for liking Ichabod (traitor to the mother country and all that ;-)
OK, bearing in mind that I still haven't hearad most of the final season, right? So if Herc runs off with Mr Birling in the last ep, leaving behind a broken-hearted Carolyn, I reserve the right to make some edits

Come to think of it, Martin's primary relationship is probably Martin/Flying In General. But Martin/GERTI is its actual, erm, physical expression. So to speak ;-)
You fan The National???? I have lusty-bad thoughts about Amanda Lang but I can't imagine Peter Mansbridge or Wendy Mesley or Ian Hanomansing doing it for me (ok, Ian isn't so bad...)
Well I don't fan The National as a whole, but... *stubs toe* like you I do find Amanda Lang ridiculously attractive. Every time I see her, Moe Szyslak goes off in my brain: "Hey, I'm looking for Amanda Huggenkiss! Ah, why can't I find Amanda Huggenkiss?" Sigh

Oh god, Amanda... She was supposed to host a live round table session at a financial event that I was working and I was sooooooo excited. Then she had to do something else and CBC sent a replacement instead. That woman is smart and sexy and doesn't take crap from people (like that ass O'Leary). Yep, epic girlcrush is epic.
I never thought about Mansbridge and Martin until you mentioned it but they DO flirt often, don't they? Holy shit, I cannot start fanning The National....
When it comes to AH, I just want Stahl gone. Her and her long tresses and Chrome chip on her shoulder thing. Not interested at all. I, too, was pissed about the insecure Maldonado episode, but was so because it felt OOC and not for the deeper feminist reasons that you pointed out. Now I'm angry all over again.
I want to be Dorian because I want to flip a van ;)
I can see why you'd be excited. Smart and sexy and doesn't take crap is attractive to me, too. Pity she didn't show :-(
Holy shit, I cannot start fanning The National....
Don't worry, there are too many stupid things about it to fan it completely. (Husband and I have given to chirping "And there's a Canadian connection!" at odd moments because we've heard it on The National so regularly.)
This is where I don't say anything about my imaginary Evan Solomon/Mark Kelley RPF...

Yeah, the first thing was that it was outrageously OOC (that was not Maldonado), but it was just - so deeply insulting all round, too

The first character I first fell in love with: it's a close call, but - Kate Beckett, for her toughness, intelligence, humour, and eye-rolling amusement at Castle's melodramatic imaginings. She's a remarkably patient person, really.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: not applicable.
The character I love that everyone else hates: I don't know who everyone hates (I'm not in the fandom), but, erm: maybe Sidney Perlmutter, the grumpy medical examiner? He's a hoot. Or hey, Cpt. Gates. She was somewaht abrasive when she was first introduced and I know a lot of people didn't take to her, but she's actually pretty awesome.
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: this is maybe a horrible confession, but I'm becoming a bit tired of Castle. I don't hate him or anything, that's impossible as he's basically pretty lovable, but he doesn't surprise me any more and that's an unfortunate quality in a main character
