I finally decided to do an IQ test after finding out that I had been dating a genius. Now bear in mind that this was taken at midnight after 3 nights of 5 or so hours of sleep but apparently I do alright ( Read more... )

Cool you probably have around the same IQ as me. I always get around 130 (they usually say they have a error of 5 points).

What test did you do?

Tickle.

I think it's kinda funny result. I've always thought one of my weaknesses is spotting patterns, particularly in maths.

And I still maintain my position on IQ tests really. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't really test the two things I consider to be the most important markers of intelligence: not that they really could. Analytical ability (philosphy, politics, critical thinking) and the ability to use language really well.

And as for testing general knowledge, that's about as arbitrary as a test can get.

But it's not a completely useless test either.
