YOU GET THE TAIL END OF THE CURSE stopthat_destro May 7 2011, 03:59:06 UTC
You were too good a warden for the Joker.

[But mostly he hated him for stealing his ventilator that one time.]

[Ope! Rex is still Regina!] Possibly, and possibly not. I was unwilling to give up easily, however.

What would you do if he came back?

I'm not sure. Warden or not, I'd still have enough of a vested interest to protect people from him. Especially those I cared about. [No more ventilator stealing!]

Well, I can't say I was planning on leaving them behind.

[What is it with this Doctor's obsession with his shoes? First he takes them off while Narvin was unconscious in his TARDIS, now he makes a point of reminding him to wear some.]

[This is actually in reference to that. Though this time he's not in any way expecting to find socks that say "Thete Sigma" on them.] Good! You're prepared. I'll be up there in three shakes of a leg and get moving.

[Don't... ask.]

[The Doctor was drumming his knuckles on the bartop, calmly... no not really calmly. Fidgeting as he waited for Narvin to come along.]

[Spam] zomg tenses. and pesky hard-to-spell words...like "is" timesbureaucrat May 7 2011, 06:05:47 UTC
[Narvin is fairly sure that's not how the English phrase is supposed to go. But the Doctor has spent more time with humans than he has, so perhaps that's a perfectly normal variation that Narvin is unfamiliar with.

He walks briskly to the pub, boots firmly on, and a bottle of very fine cognac in his hand, courtesy of Braxiatel.]

[Spam] Me too. Go tense fail. Also that is not how "is" is spelled. NOT LETTING YOU DELETE championoftime May 7 2011, 06:26:04 UTC
[He raises his eyebrows at the bottle when he sees Narvin come in, before lifting his hat in greeting.] Braxiatel's doing? [The man knows his booze.]...Don't tell him I've saved up several bottles of vintage Prydonian.

Joker dude sounds like a pretty fun guy to me.

You might think so, but he inevitably turned on the few friends that he had. Being on relatively good terms with someone was inconsequential to him, even if it was in his best interest.

Well, not everyone can be a logical business type guy. You have to be prepared for that type of thing. Or just watch from a distance.

Before he left, I had figured out that basically he wasn't unlike most other people. All these terrible things that he did were quite likely either an escape from the upsets of life, or he wanted more people to understand the world as he had come to see it.

I'll never know now, really. But I do know he wouldn't allow anyone to just watch from a distance. That's what he did, and the rest of the world was the show.

Thanks but no thanks, Doc. I'm over it.

[Which is code for "I'll deal with it because he's my BFF, but I still don't think he should be here".]

...How do you think the Admiral decides who gets to come here and who don't anyway?

I just thought I would check to make sure.

I wonder if he has particular individuals or types that he just... likes. I don't know that he intends the ship to be as dangerous as it is. We do most of that. But he seems to approve of certain faces, certain places, certain styles of dress. I think he chose you both because he likes you and you can both make your world better.

And here all this time I was thinkin' he chose me 'cause he thought I was a screw-up, but I know that ain't the case with Johnny.

It's gotta be different for everyone the Admiral drags here.

It may be. And even if it is that he likes us, being "liked" isn't always wonderful. One can have an annoying neighbour that persistently visits them because they "like" them. What is important, I think, is no matter how it came about you use this second chance and take care of your friend.

I have made a step forward. The Admiral says she will still receive her deal.

Good! A bright future is still at her fingertips. And hopefully I'll be able to assist Mr. Profit in some significant way.
