Murphy's Law. As soon as you buy renter's insurance, nothing will happen to your apartment worth insuring it for. It's worked for me so far. *knock on wood*

It depends on your apartment. How many rooms, how many smoke alarms, how many exits, is there a fire extinguisher nearby... Then they provide a checklist for you to keep track of your high-ticket items and an estimate of how much all that would be worth. That doesn't figure into the total though for some reason. *shrug* My insurance comes to $300/yr for my 1-bedroom.
I had to look to find out how many smoke alarms I had. One in each bedroom and one in the hall. A single entrance. The scary part is that I have no idea where a fire extinguisher might be.

Are there anythings in particular you'd like to have an icon of? I'm obsessed with making them. I see you like Jeeves and Wooster...perhaps an icon of them will do? :D Or any pictures you like of, well, anything...I'd be glad to make icons of them for you :D

I like Jeeves & Wooster, anything Jane Austen, classic movies, etc. :) I can't think of any pictures to use, but when I come across one, I'll let you know. Thanks so much for the offer!

How much does it cost anyhow? Is it dependent on how many things you wish to insure? I keep forgetting to look into it.
