My uncles, DH, and I spent most of the day browsing used bookstores in Hillcrest. I found a gem - an 1879 copy of Tennyson's Poetical Works. Not rare or expensive or anything, but it has such charm! (Edited to add: DH is objecting to my saying that I found a gem. He is insisting that he get credit for finding it for me.)

Wow, that book is beautiful!

I hope your parents get there soon and I'll keep your grandfather in my prayers. *hug*

what a lovely book! I've fixed some late 1800s volumes at work, but never anything in such good condition as that.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. ♥

That book is absolutely beautiful!

*hugs* about your grandfather... Actually, kind of odd that I stumbled upon this since my grandfather is in a similar situation (advanced diabetes which has recently led to a second heart attack and kidney failure)I know this can be tough. I hope all goes well for you.

I am guessing the parents are coming into town for Thanksgiving, if you celebrate it that is?
