I've come a long way since New Years Day (
1/1 posts).
Here were my projects in the chronological order:
Afghan rectangle for Michael's Warm Up America project
yarn: TLC Essentials (100% acrylic)
color: Shaded Denim
needles: size 7, metal circular
Nikita's Kitty Afghan
yarn: TLC Essentials (100% acrylic)
color: Winter White, Cranberry, & Navy
needles: size 7, metal circular
design (my own): 3 squares of each color, textured reverse stockinette stripes
So far, only 1 of 9 squares has been knitted.
Garter-stitch Bag
yarn: Rowan DK Handknit Cotton
color: Spanish Red
needles: size 6, metal & bamboo circular
design: Project 1 from Debbie Bliss's How to Knit
Multiplying stitches by estimated rows, I figure it took me nearly 20,000 stitches to complete this monster. It's about 14" square.
Stockinette-stitch Sweater
yarn: Rowan DK Handknit Cotton
color: Turkish Plum [looks more navy blue to me]
needles: size 4 & 6, metal circular
design: Project 2 from Debbie Bliss's How to Knit
Gauge swatch just completed. It was the right size - success! This was the first gauge swatch I ever made since I didn't care too much if the sizing was a bit off on the bag or afghan squares. There are 5 sizes (all children's), and I'm knitting the smallest one (age 1-2) for several reasons: 1) less yarn to buy, 2) finish sooner, 3) I have someone in mind for this! Now onto the sweater. . . .
