I need to leave for lecture in a few minutes, and I had hoped to bring my current knitting with me in my new bag (in case I had to wait to be picked up afterward). Nikita, however, had other ideas:
My local friend, Barbara, who has 3 cats, said to me, "Did you really leave your knitting behind just because of the cat?" *hrmph* This from someone who has been known to call her husband from her cell phone when they're both in the same house to ask him to come upstairs to give her a book because she can't move with the cat on her lap. ;)
Yes, my knitting skills are still slow but gradually improving. My friend, Tansy, said yesterday, "It's amazing how easy you make it look." She was surprised when I said it still didn't feel easy to me (easier, for sure, but not easy). Tansy told her friend who was sitting there that I'd started in January. "January a year ago you mean?" she asked. "No, this year," Tansy clarified. Her friend was positively stunned.
So that was my little ego boost of the weekend. At the very least, I can fool non-knitters into believing I know what I'm doing. ;)
And Nikita is stunning in red. it's hard to see from the picture, but her actual collar (not just the heart pendant) is in red (with silver reflective paw prints). We chose that color because it just seemed to complement so beautifully with her black and white fur.
